What is FolderFish and how does it work?
FolderFish is an online document management system for personal or business use. Users can easily organize, access and collaborate on any file including photos from any PC or Mac. Users an also create direct links to your files via email, instant messenger, or placed on your website or blog.

How long does it take to activate my account?
After you have signed up, your account will be activated in less than 24 hours.

What browsers do you officially support?
Mozilla Firefox version 2.0 or higher, Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher, Safari. Your web browser must have support of JavaScript, cookie files and plugins (Flash) enabled.

Can I upload multiple files?
Yes, FolderFish allows you to upload multiple files directly from your computer, using the Ctrl or Shift key. The upload progress bar is displayed for each file. You can also continue working with the previously uploaded files during an upload.

How long will you keep a copy of my data?
Your data will never be deleted unless you login and delete it yourself.

I mistakenly emptied my FolderFish recycle bin, what do I do?
Don't worry! Our FolderFish Data Recovery Service could recover one or all of your files for only $1 per file! Great for the big oops...did I do that?!

How many files can I upload?
The sky's the limit. However, we do monitor our network 24/7 for user abuse.

Can I just send a link to file without making someone a user?
You sure can! You can create a link to a single file, several selected files, or an entire folder. Email this link or publish it on any web page.

Can I download multiple files at once?
Yes. Select several files or a folder and download them as a ZIP file.

Do I have to download a document to edit it?
Not necessarily. Most widely used types of text documents (Word, Excel, and OpenOffice text, and spreadsheet documents) can be edited directly in your browser – this feature is powered by the Zoho online services.

Can I prevent other users from modifying the files I am working with?
Yes. Use the "Lock" feature — the file will become "read-only" and no one except you will be able to delete/rewrite it until you "unlock" it.

I often make changes to certain files. Can I keep version history?
Yes. When you upload another file with the same name, its older version is not removed — it is saved in the "version history. " Any of the previously saved versions of each file can be downloaded and viewed at any time.

Can I place a publicly accessible list of files on my website?
Yes, no problem — just create a "File List" Widget, then cut and paste the HTML code to your website. The list of file names with links to the files will appear on you site. You can also customize the look and feel of the file list to complement your website design.

Can I allow my friends or clients to upload files to FolderFish?
Yes. Your friends, family, and customers can easily upload files to FolderFish, even if they are not users. Simply add an "Online Folder" widget to your website or blog. Files uploaded through the widget will be automatically saved in the specified folder.

How secure are my documents?
256Bit SSL Encryption provides an extra level of protection to your documents, giving you the peace of mind that all communication, collaboration, and data exchange with colleagues, customers, family, and friends are conducted in a secure environment. Based on advanced code scrambling technology SSL Encryption prevents hackers and other intruders from accessing your data.

Our secure data center and storage is hosted with Amazon Web Services (AWS) which delivers a highly scalable cloud computing platform with high availability and dependability, as well as the flexibility to enable customers to store and manage a wide range of documents.

In order to provide end-to-end security and end-to-end privacy, FolderFish services are in accordance with security best practices, addionally provide appropriate security features in those services, and documents how to use those features. Furthermore, AWS requires FolderFish to use those features and best practices to architect an appropriately secure application environment.

What is your Fax-to-Folder service?
For an additional $14.95/mo a dedicated fax number will be assigned to your account with unlimited fax minutes (receive faxes only). When your friends, family, or clients send you a fax using your dedicated number, the fax will automatically be converted to PDF format, then added to a designated folder in your FolderFish account. You will also receive an automated email when the file has been successfully added to your folder! (All unlimited fax numbers will have a 480 area code).
